Abstract

This session explores the challenges to university-based teacher education within a complicated political climate, and the role of developing teacher educators navigating the larger terrain in which university-based teacher education operate. Through an intimate discussion with senior scholars who have expertise in diverse pathways of teacher education, we examine the work of teacher educators committed to transforming inequitable schooling within the larger sociopolitical climate. Moving from local perspectives in San Antonio, TX to the global perspectives on teacher education, this session aims to better understand these experiences within in a multifaceted context.
