Session Type: Invited Speaker Session
Translating research findings and implications to a broad audience is an important step to influence research and practice. As such, researchers frequently discuss the findings and implications of their work to a variety of outlets including local news stations, radio stations, and even large network television stations. Scholars will inevitably be asked or approached to conduct an interview for a media outlet at some point in their career. This fireside chat will present tips, strategies, and real examples on how to engage with, and speak to different media outlets. Senior and junior scholars with several years of experience speaking with media and news outlets will share their experiences and present information and strategies on speaking and engaging with the media.
