Session Type: Paper Session
In this symposium five papers are presented that explore issues in STEM pre-service teacher preparation and in-service professional development. Across the five papers the authors explore the integration of math and science via the use of place-based pedagogy, pre-service teachers’ engagement with inquiry-based instruction, developing K-8 teachers’ capacity for NGSS implementation, in-service teachers beliefs about pedagogical discontentment and self-efficacy and teachers understanding of science as a cultural endeavor. These papers represent work from around the United States with k-12 STEM educators.
