Although most Latin American countries have increased their coverage rates of higher education, there is an unequal distribution of the access as less economically disadvantaged populations have lower participation rates in higher education. In this context, this symposium presents and disccues how the issues of democratization and inclusión in higher education have been addressed in Mexico, and how first-generation students and faculty negotiate issues of diversity, equity, and includion in Chile.
