Abstract

This session aims to address issues related to how school leadership is translated to commitment and practice in improving opportunities for students to learn and develop, and in turn increase their academic and life chances. At this critical historical moment, the state of Texas serves as an important backdrop for understanding the role of educational leadership in facilitating educational equity and access. The panelists will focus on current and long-standing issues of expanding learning opportunities and access in Texas by drawing from their research on the role of educational leadership and policy in shaping possibilities for equitable and inclusive schooling.
