Multiracial Campus Professionals' Experiences With Multiracial Microaggressions

Sun, April 30, 8:15 to 10:15am, Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, Floor: River Level, Room 6A

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to explore multiracial microaggressions in a higher education context by asking, “What are multiracial administrators’ experiences with multiracial microaggressions on the college campus?” In reviewing the literature for this study, no research could be located that focused on student affairs administrators’ experiences with race, let alone on multiracial administrators and/or racial microaggressions, this study adds to a dearth in research concerning the racialized experiences of student affairs professionals, a population within higher education that is under-researched, yet highly influential within the campus environment and to students’ development and success (ACPA/NASPA, 2015).
