Session Type: Invited Speaker Session
This session will examine the conceptualization of equity as it relates to Latin@ epistemologies and an agenda for the future. Ongoing struggles for educational equity project increased opportunities for families and children within research, practice and policy domains. In this session, scholars consider the epistemologies that are animating new constructs in Latin@ scholarship related to equity. Scholars will consider how educational dignity, language ideologies, and epistemologies of the brown body lead us to re-think equity as a social interactional achievement. The session asks how can these constructs and epistemologies mediate a more equitable agenda and what may we envision for such an agenda?
