Abstract

Three years ago, the authors explored what is taking place in all-boy charter public schools in large urban areas in the United States. After this work was published, there were a series of racial events that captured high media coverage in the United States. Did these events play a role in the curriculum and instruction in all boys’ charter public schools? This paper provides a summary of what was learned in the first paper and what changes have occurred since then by exploring pathways that have been added in these public charter schools that support equal educational opportunities for boys in secondary education?
