Abstract

In our current school environment, educators are faced with ever changing challenges as they work to prepare our next generation to become contributory and productive citizens. Many schools have unique concerns impacting student acheivement and if teachers are empowered to conduct action research, their findings could serve as a help to solve problems, improve student learning, and impact teacher effectiveness (Mills & Gay, 2016). Research conducted by educators who work-in and know the school or district can create an aligned connection between the problem or concern through the research process and the desired outcome. This paper will share how action research was used to equip teachers to become informed and effective change agents in their classrooms, schools, and districts.
