A study was conducted using crossover design to examine the effects of using a social annotation tool on improving the translation work of college students who major in English as a foreign language. The results showed that students achieved greater gains when they completed the translation assignments with the support of the social annotation tool than when they completed the assignments in a traditional learning environment. Students also expressed a positive attitude toward the use of the social annotation tool.
