Paving the Road Into STEM for Latino Students

Abstract

In this paper we present fourth year results of a program designed to strengthen the pipeline of Latino K-12 students into post-secondary education. The program includes a suite of interventions aimed at students, parents and teachers. Results show that the mentoring program components of this initiative have a positive impact on students’ college readiness and STEM career awareness outcomes. The other extracurricular programs support this effort by increasing students STEM related content, learning and information about STEM careers.
