Abstract

Using a multidisciplinary theoretical framework based on the human capital theory, the life course perspective, and the perspective of social stratification, this study aims to examine the links between the timing of college decisions and earnings. More specifically, the study asks: What is the relationship between the timing of college decisions—initial enrollment, interruptions, and completion—and earnings trajectories over the 30 years after high school graduation?
