Abstract

The purpose of this study is to define and operationalize the concept of teaching vitality through literature and the lived experiences of 30 mid-career faculty members in public comprehensive universities. This study fills a gap in the literature by describing the individual and situational drivers of teaching vitality, its observable characteristics, and the individual and institutional factors that sustain it.
