This project examines the exclusive barriers of inclusion classrooms and suggests that inclusive education demands a new methodological approach that values difference. This assertion stems from the larger research question: What are the possibilities for the exclusive space that we call the inclusive classroom? What pedagogical methods can be implemented to make the high school English classroom more accessible? This poster presents the findings of a case study that explored the impacts of purposefully inclusive instructional methods. I will share my research done on one of the several purposefully inclusive methods implemented in a High School Language Arts Classroom: the inclusion of texts written by individuals with varying abilities.
