A Critical Race Theory Analysis of Racialized Experiences of Black College Students With Financial Aid

Abstract

This qualitative study uses CRT to analyze data from 29 Black college students and their racialized experiences with financial aid. Assumptions about students’ (1) reliance on financial aid, (2) concerns about financial safety and (3) desire to relieve their parents’ financial burdens inform a deeper understanding of their college experiences.
