This study explores faculty commitment to maintaining their preferred approach to teaching controversial issues after the implementation of a policy that allows license holders to carry concealed weapons on campus. Analysis of survey responses suggests that beliefs, experiences, background characteristics, and contextual factors matter to faculty as they decide whether or not to change their teaching practices in light of the so-called “campus carry” policy.
