The intent of this paper is to explore the role of care and its need to be elevated and emphasized in a profession that seeks human improvement. This recognition is particularly important for underrepresented, underserved, and at-risk populations whose needs and concerns must be included in educational reform decisions in order to provide an equitable and socially just classroom experience for all students. It is not the intent of the paper to find a precise definition for educational care, but instead, to examine implications of bringing back the value of care in educational practice and raising awareness to outside stakeholders concerning the core of care and advocating for social justice.
