High-level auditioned choirs, both in schools and community, have historically been exclusive organizations for musically gifted youth. There is a need to address this gap through the exploration of more inclusive artistic environments that can include children of a broader spectrum of abilities. This study explores a two-fold model for inclusion as developed within a Canadian choir organization and an independent school. First, the connection with the largest children’s treatment facility in Ontario, through active involvement and collaboration in their music therapy program. Second is the development of “All Voices Together,” a program that nurtures musical expression regardless of challenges. Study results recognize the need to prioritize the process of musical learning through exploration, rather than more traditional performance goals.
