This paper discusses the implementation and evaluation of a cross-campus Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) initiative at a small, primarily undergraduate art and design university. Specifically, the paper will argue that art and design education, with its emphasis on creative practices of making and maker culture, affords opportunities to reflect upon what and how we learn in different pedagogical and disciplinary contexts and to recognize diverse forms of knowledge production within the university as seen through the lens of student writing and writing instruction.
