Session Type: Symposium
Between 1996-1998 Elliot Eisner and Howard Gardner debated the merits of the arts-based dissertation over three AERA conferences. Three young scholars who are completing or recently completed their arts-based educational research (ABER) dissertations revisit these questions to reflect on how our epistemological, and perhaps ontological, orientations to research have shifted in this time. The discussant for this session was a participant in the first 1996 Eisner/Gardner session.
