Abstract

This course will include lecture and group discussion aimed at explaining technically complex topics related to growth models and accountability systems. The goal of the course is to help state and district decision makers as well as education researchers who partner with states and districts to improve education evaluation systems. The course will translate complex ideas related to evaluation measures, point out where choices have important consequences for incentives, and frame key decisions in the context of state and district goals. The course is appropriate for state and district policy makers and education researchers who work with states and districts on issues related to measuring teacher and school effectiveness and designing evaluation and accountability systems.
