Session Type: Professional Development Course
This course will help graduate students and early career faculty to understand and gain the skill of analyzing the literature using a systematic review analysis. Participants will conduct and evaluate systematic review studies within six modules: (a) formulate the research question relevant to systematic review; (b) locate and appraise the data; (c) collect data using keywords in the databases; (d) import the data all to Refworks; (e) create a Qualtrics database to analyze the data and develop the codes and themes for their topics; and (f) interpret the results. Participants will have simulated topics for the development of understanding of how to engage in a systematic review; however, participants also will use their topics in beginning their own systematic review which can lead to a publication. The participants should have access to Refworks and/or Qualtrics or at least should be able to create accounts on Refworks and Qualtrics prior to attending the course.
