Session Type: Invited Speaker Session
In this session, a panel of Black women teacher educators will share the ways in which Dr. Cynthia Dillard’s scholarship has influenced their thinking, research and the ways they navigate academia as a Black woman scholars. Additionally, they will share how Dr. Dillard’s work has been instrumental for the field of teaching and teacher education and how Dr. Dillard’s transformative scholarship has left a legacy for future generations of educators. This session will conclude with discussant remarks from Dr. Dillard on ways we should see teacher education research as both intellectual and spiritual endeavors as we strive to end oppression and work toward a better humanity for all.
