The three papers in this roundtable use data from the Program for International Science Assessment (PISA) and the Program for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) surveys to explore academic outcomes in different countries. The papers use a variety of analytic techniques including structural equation modeling, multilevel modeling with plausible values, and multiple linear regression to explore such topics as science learning models; relationships between personal and workplace characteristics and adult literacy skills; and relationships between literacy practices and adult skills in literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving.
