Abstract

School turnaround confronts reformers, turnaround partners, and school and district leaders with extraordinary challenges. Successful programs must find ways to dramatically increase the level of teaching and learning while confronting an array of formidable obstacles that can derail improvement efforts. This session presents evidence from an eclectic array of school turnaround models from different states and countries thereby increasing understanding and knowledge of "what it takes" to overcome the formidable challenges of school turnaround
