Session Type: Invited Speaker Session
Writing a proposal for a mixed methods audience can be challenging; this session addresses developing quality mixed methods proposals for a variety of purposes including conferences, books, and journal articles. Drawing upon the expertise of scholars who have served as conference program chairs, journal editors, and book editors the session seeks to support the mixed methods community by collectively exploring how we improve writing about our research. Particular attention will be paid to the unique challenges and hallmarks of mixed methods proposals including addressing the need for a mixed methods design, integrating strands, demonstrating fidelity to the chosen method, and attending to appropriate approaches to validity. This session is for novice and experienced researchers alike; everyone will benefit.
