Session Type: Invited Speaker Session
From early childhood education to Indigenous education and
internationalization, Canadian education deans of education are changing
conversations about education in Canada. The dean of education’s role is rooted in
provincial or state mandates, but even as state-regional leaders we collectively
support, inspire and motivate change across the country and internationally. Reflective
of this leadership role, this symposium will provide an overview of the work of the
Association of Canadian Deans of Education (ACDE CANADA) from the perspectives of
five deans. The session will pay particular attention to the five ACDE accords and
position statement, which focus on initial teacher education, early learning and early
childhood education, Indigenous education, research in education, internationalization
in education, and effective practica for educators.
