Abstract

Join the San Francisco Human Rights Commission to learn strategies for maximizing the potential of your students in and out of school. This event is the third in our "The Power of Partnerships" series, and will begin at 4:00pm in the Oxford Room of the Warwick New York Hotel. Panelists will provide important background and fresh perspectives on student initiatives that have been found to work, followed by interactive workshops led by The Root's Michael Harriot and a free reception.

Sheryl Davis (@SherylDavisSF) - Executive Director of the San Francisco Human Rights Commission.

Michael Harriot (@MichaelHarriot) - critically acclaimed poet, journalist, novelist and broadcaster; contributor to The Root; editor-in-chief of NegusWhoRead; and host of “The Black One” podcast network.

Suzy Loftus (@SuzyLoftus) - Veteran former prosecutor who led the San Francisco Police Commission and served as General Counsel of the California Department of Justice, the nation’s second-largest public law office.

Shamann Walton (@ShamannWalton) - Executive Director of Young Community Developers, Inc., a workforce development agency located in San Francisco’s Bayview Hunters Point Community; and a Commissioner on the San Francisco Board of Education.
