Session Type: Invited Speaker Session
On current trends, the world would be half a century late for the 2030 targets on quality education listed in the Sustainable Development Goals. A transformative movement is needed to reach quality education for all. To do so, the role of government in education and research is indispensable. The ‘necessary utopia’ outlined by the Delors Commission in 1996 – on building peace through learning – remains a guiding light for policymakers and researchers. In this session, representatives from international organizations and the media will explore how to accelerate progress towards the global goals, and how young researchers can make a real world of difference.
