Session Summary

Speakers Corner The ILSA Gateway - A Free Online Tool for Education Researchers

Sun, April 15, 1:00 to 2:30pm, New York Hilton Midtown, AERA Speakers Corner

Session Type: Invited Speaker Session

Abstract

Scanning different websites in order to access information, documents, or data related to international large-scale assessments (ILSAs) in education can be an extremely time-consuming experience for researchers or other interested individuals. The new ILSA Gateway alleviates the task by providing comprehensive information in a standardized format and offering a centralized access to the following ILSAs: ICCS, ICILS, PASEC, PIAAC, PIRLS, PISA, PRIDI, SACMEQ, STEP, TALIS, TEDS-M, TERCE, and TIMSS.

The primary objective of these three repeating half-hour sessions is to give conference participants an overview of the content and features available on the Gateway and to show them how to effectively use the new platform. In addition, the organizations that developed and maintain this free online tool, basically, the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA), will be briefly presented.
