Abstract

The purpose of this theoretical framework and literature review is to explore the identity development process of transfronterizo college students from the San Diego-Tijuana border region. This theoretical framework and literature review is guided by the following objective: Illustrate how the transborder context influences the identity development of transfronterizo college students. This study will illustrate a theoretical model model to provide an understanding of the identity development process of transfronterizo college students from the San Diego-Tijuana border region. The theoretical model of this study is based on four concepts of: (1) Transborder Context, (2) Transborderism, (3) Hybridity and (4) Intersectionality.
