Session Type: Symposium
This symposium brings together researchers working on faculty development as part of NSF funded initiatives. A goal of this session is to highlight approaches to faculty support and to illustrate how various forms of professional development can influence student success. Pointedly, the symposium presentation synthesizes strategies used across the funded grants to uncover shared practices, findings, and implications for practice and research. Implications for faculty, faculty developers, and campus leaders will be included. Opportunities for small group discussion provide a forum for broader dialogue on ways to improve student learning through faculty development. Additionally, as successful PIs in securing and managing NSF projects, the presenters offer a unique perspective to aspiring NSF-grantees on best practices in grant supported education research.
