Session Type: Symposium
This symposium focuses on the ways in which a redesigned state sponsored Teaching Performance Assessment (TPA) supports integrated approaches in performance assessment that are new to the field of teacher preparation, and will produce teachers who are motivated to develop equitable and justice-orientated learning environments while continuing to deliver developmentally appropriate and rigorous curriculum. It will also highlight how student assessments are operationalized as a reflective tool in the redesigned TPA, and will examine the TPA’s design process, which is anchored in collaborative design work to develop a performance assessment that can produce diagnostic information for program improvement and induction support.
