The State of Evidence on Postsecondary Access and Success: Findings From the What Works Clearinghouse

Fri, April 13, 12:00 to 1:30pm, New York Marriott Marquis, Floor: Fifth Floor, Westside Ballroom Salon 1

Abstract

The What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) was established in 2002 to serve as a central and trusted resource for evidence on the effectiveness of educational interventions. In 2016, the WWC released a database of studies reviewed and findings from those studies. Currently, there are more than 9,800 unique studies in this database, including more than 640 postsecondary studies. In this presentation, authors will draw upon this WWC studies database and present findings to date on “What Works” in postsecondary education, benchmark findings to other fields of research, and describe common methodological challenges in postsecondary research. This presentation will include a demonstration of how to access WWC data and features of the WWC database.
