In Their Own Words: National Study on Administrator Attitudes of Educator Effectiveness

Abstract

This paper examines views of an educator effectiveness model, TAP: The System for Teacher and Student Advancement, as told by administrators. The current study draws from the survey data of over 300 administrators, representing 222 schools in 9 states. These educators worked in schools that implemented the TAP System during the 2015-16 school year. Findings demonstrate administrators overwhelmingly reported favorable opinions of the four core elements of the TAP System and reported that the core elements are well implemented in their schools. Further, educators perceived school, teacher, and student level impacts of the TAP System. Specifically, administrators reported impacts on levels of collegiality, increases in teacher effectiveness, and growth in the achievement of students in their schools.
