Session Type: Invited Speaker Session
A collection of diverse mentors, in terms of disciplinary focus and types of academic institutions as well as race and ethnicity, will share their stories of how they thought about their careers and the pathways they followed after becoming tenured. These stories will include processes of promotion but also experiences with projects of great importance to them, particularly those grounded in communities and/or political commitments. Mentors will then facilitate small group discussions in which midcareer scholars discuss their hopes and concerns regarding their post-tenure careers. Finally, the mentors will again come together again to answer lingering questions of the mentees.
