In this scholarly paper, using literature on Black students’ experiences at predominantly white institutions as an example, the author puts Critical Race Theory in conversation with Bourdieu’s Theory of Practice. This paper provides a theoretical foundation for future work studying the reproduction of power, culture, and agency in higher education as it relates to underrepresented minorities.
