The functions of a Student Conduct Administrator (SCA) have existed on college and university campuses for numerous decades. Colleges and universities now employ specialized staff members to fulfill the SCA role. The fundamentals of the position have changed only minimally over time, but these responsibilities continue to become more complex. The question to be answered is whether or not the practice of SCAs constitutes a profession? This research provides the results of a national survey of SCAs who described how they remain current pertaining to trends and topics within the field, identify necessary skills to perform the position, and describe any specialized training that SCAs may require.
