Abstract

Co-curricular learning is learning that occurs in extracurricular activities that provide opportunities for students to be challenged and grow, but are not assigned academic credit nor are systematically evaluated. The objective of this study is to examine pharmacy students’ description of their collective learning as a student organization through planned co-curricular activities. Existing data were used on 152 unique co-curricular activities during the 2017-18 academic year. Descriptive statistics were used to describe the data. The results indicated that the most frequently reported learning opportunities from engaging in co-curricular activities were communication skills, professionalism, and patient education skills.
