Abstract

Through autoethnography and narrative inquiry, this qualitative self-study addresses the question implied in the AERA 2019 Call for Submissions, namely, whose truth matters? In response, this paper examined the individual written journal reflections and professional histories of two teacher-educators during the period 2010-2016. Using the constant comparative method, the data was coded and it generated five self-revealing themes which hitherto had unacknowledged impact on our individual teaching and pedagogical practice over the years. The truth revealed is sufficiently compelling to "explain the complex struggles in our field" as stated in the AERA 2019 Call for Submissions.
