A Co-Creative Duet: Playing With Place and Professional Identity as Self-Study Scholars

Fri, April 17, 2:15 to 3:45pm, Virtual Room

Abstract

We share the design and development of our co-creative duet, which emerged from exploring place and identity in-between the different contexts in which we live and work, and our distinct personal and professional experiences. The paper demonstrates how we combined memory-work and found poetry as virtual bricolage self-study. We composed and exchanged oral and written memory pieces in response to a guiding question. Then we developed a sequence of three poems using words and phrases from our memory pieces. Next, we pulled short segments from our memory pieces to create a dialogic response to each line of our third poem. Overall, the paper illuminates our learning about place and professional identity from inquiring about our past through virtual bricolage self-study.
