This study examined what high school counselors know about the new National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) academic eligibility regulations. We situated this study within the context of California Title I schools, which adds complexity to the transition to college process. The results of this study indicated that high school counselors know very little about NCAA eligibility requirements; and need specific information and resources to help student-athletes from underserved backgrounds keep their collegiate dreams alive.
