Identifying and Responding to Conundrums of Self in Self-Study of Practice Scholarship

Fri, April 17, 2:15 to 3:45pm, Virtual Room

Abstract

This project explored the conundrums of Self-Study of Practice (S-SP) research. Since the work is positioned in the space between self and other, we began by exploring our own work to uncover the issues that are resident in the space of our research. After identifying four conundrums (ongoing issues in this research). We verified our findings exploring S-SP published research of others. The paper identifies, defines and examines each of the conundrums: 1) BECOMING of self and other; 2) the self; 3) wholeness in relationship to the particular; and 4) the ethical. Deepening our understanding of the conundrums of the self in S-SP work arms the researcher to strength their research so that it can make stronger contributions to research.
