In this study we explored L2 motivation and its relations to L2 proficiency among college students of native Korean who learn English as a foreign language. First, we translated and validated L2 motivational self-system questionnaire originally by Taguchi et al. (2009) into Korean, and conducted exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis to validate the questionnaire. A total of 1373 Korean college EF learners participated in this study to be asked to fill out language learning motivation questionnaire. Using the modified questionnaire in Korean, we then examined L2 motivation model and its predictive power on L2 proficiency among Korean college EF learners via structural equation modeling approach.
