A large, urban school district in the Southeastern United States partnered with a regional educational laboratory funded by IES to develop a data use culture. As part of the implementation process, it was determined that data about teacher data use practices were needed to make informed decisions about supporting schools with implementation of data use best practices. At the time, no valid and reliable teacher data use survey existed. As a result, the partnership led to the development of the Teacher Data Use Survey (TDUS) to aid the district in implementing a data use culture. This presentation will discuss the IES partnership that led to the development of the TDUS, which will include why the TDUS was created and how it was used within the district.
