Abstract

Historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) have a rich history; and intercollegiate athletics produces a transformative opportunity for student-athletes to engage in the campus community. This scholarly synthesis paper takes a novel, anti-deficit approach to educate, challenge, and reimagine the landscape of HBCU athletics in the 21st century.
