The prevalence of conflict in school organizations highlights the needs for the leadership professional development in conflict management while there is little in the literature about how to prepare and train school leaders for the inevitable conflicts that happens in school organizations. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the Summer Leadership Institute (SLI) in school leaders’ professional growth, with an emphasis on assessing the changes of their perceived conflict management. The findings showed that SLI served to deepen school leaders’ capacities to engage in effective educational leadership, especially the conflict management.
