Enhancement and Validation of the Generalized Acceptance of EvolutioN Evaluation (GAENE) Scale

Abstract

Because an understanding of evolution is central to inquiry in natural sciences and important to advancing sciences related to natural sciences it is important to understand the level of acceptance of evolution in various populations. This study examines the psychometric quality of an improvement of the GAENE measure based on improvements to the measure. A national sample of introductory science students in higher education courses was sampled for this examination.
