This growing movement uses a collective impact approach to bring agencies and individuals across multiple sectors together to work toward a shared purpose of realigning resources and reclaiming neighborhoods. Underlying this approach to collaboration is the shared understanding that “not one entity can do this alone,” says a representative from the county office of education. Families and various institutions are armed with the mantra that they will “Build Black,” and work collaboratively to reconnect the region to its own sovereign of Black power.
