#HiphopEd as a Democratic Digital Learning Space: A Cyber-Ethnography of an On/Offline Community

Abstract

This paper employs a 7-year cyber ethnography to interrogate the impact of a weekly online Twitter chat that focuses on the intersections of Hip-hop and education. It engages 10 participants in the chat that represent stakeholders in education and participants in hip-hop education (2 college professors, 2 teachers, 2 parents, 2 (formerly) high school students and 2 community stakeholders in education).
